ADANJA-PETROVIC, Monika
Grade 4 Teacher | [email protected]
Monika joined ISB in 2006 as an English as a Second Language (EAL) Teacher and Advanced Literacy Teacher for the primary grades. Monika is currently teaching Grade 3 and has been since 2008. Monika is a dual citizen of Canada and Serbia. Prior to working at ISB, she was an Elementary School Teacher for the Toronto District School Board in Toronto, Canada. In addition to teaching Gr. 2 and Gr. 6, Monika was a Special Education Teacher for two years, teaching children with Developmental Disabilities which span a variety of areas including physical, intellectual, behavioral and medical needs. In 2002, Monika received her Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at York University in Toronto. In 2004, she also received a Bachelor of Education degree in the primary/junior division at York University in Toronto.
AKINTOYE, Daniel
MYP/DP Math Teacher | [email protected]
Daniel joined ISB in August 2021 after completing five years of teaching Secondary Math at School of the Nations, an IB World School in Macau, SAR China. He has previous experience as Teacher of Maths and House Parent at Day Waterman College, a British-curriculum boarding school in his native Nigeria as well as other secondary schools in Nigeria. Daniel earned his Master of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Macau and his Bachelor degree in Mathematics from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He obtained his teaching certificate from National Teachers' Institute, Nigeria.
ALIMPIC, Zorica
Primary School French Teacher | [email protected]
Before joining ISB Primary School as the French Teacher in 2018, Zorica worked as a teacher at the French School of Belgrade for 8 years. Zorica was born in France and she is a native French speaker. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree as well as her teaching certificate in French Language and Literature from the University of Belgrade, Serbia.
ANTONIC, Uros
Secondary School French Teacher | [email protected]
Uros joined ISB as the Secondary French Teacher in August 2018. His professional experience includes 13 years of teaching French Language in various educational institutions in Belgrade, including the French Institute, the Educational System Kreativno pero, and the Swanbell Educational Center. Uros obtained his Bachelor’s degree in French Language and Literature from the University of Belgrade, and his teaching license from the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Republic of Serbia. He is a pioneer in implementing the ideas and principles of gamification in education in Serbia, and he became a Classcraft Ambassador in 2017. He is a member of the French Language Teachers Association of Serbia.
BADHAM, Erlend
Athletic Director/Activities Coordinator | [email protected]
Erlend is a dual citizen of Norway and the UK who joined ISB as the Athletic Director/Activities Coordinator in August 2021. Previously, he served as the Head of Athletics and Activities at an international school in Switzerland for four years, as the Whole School Activity Coordinator and PE Teacher at an international school in Qatar for three years, as well as a Primary Teacher in various public schools in the UK. Erlend obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Physical and Outdoor Education from La Trobe University in Australia.
BAILER, Raymond
DP History/DP Economics/ MYP Individuals & Societies Teacher | [email protected]
Prior to joining ISB, Raymond taught MYP Individuals and Societies/DP Economics and served as an Extended Essay Coordinator at the American British Academy in Muscat, Oman. His professional experience also includes teaching Government, Geography and Economics while heading the Social Studies Department at the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, USA as well as instructing Political Science at the University of Minnesota. Raymond obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies with an emphasis in History and Secondary Education from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, USA and his teaching certificate in Social Studies from the state of Minnesota, USA.
BALOS, Ljiljana

Dr. Lilly Balos, MSc GP FM has been employed at ISB as our school doctor since 2003. In addition to that role, Dr. Lilly has been in charge of the ISB Crisis Response Manual and coordinates the annual CPR and First Aid training for ISB faculty and staff. After graduating in the field of medicine from the University of Belgrade in 2002. Dr. Lilly obtained her Master of Science degree in Medicine in 2010 in the field of Diabetes in Children. She successfully completed the Specialist Program in General/Family Medicine in 2012. She acquired the General Medical/Family Medicine Practitioner's License from the Serbian Medical Chamber in 2009. Dr. Lilly continues to take university-sponsored medical programs and pursue other professional development opportunities that help her in providing health care services to our students and faculty.
BARTLETT, Howard

Originally from the USA, Howard joined ISB as Classroom Teacher after completing his tenure at Tokyo International School, Japan, where he taught PYP to students in Grades 4 and 5. Prior to that, Howard worked as a Gr. 5 teacher at Walworth Barbour American International School in Israel, as well as at a public school in the USA. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Learning Development at the University of Texas, USA and is certified by the State of Texas to teach K-6.
BECKER, Alexander
University & Careers Guidance Counselor | [email protected]
Alex started his career in New York, USA as a Gr. 6-12 counselor working in both the social/emotional and university counseling capacities for five years. He then transitioned into international education and worked as a University Counselor in schools in Colombia and Thailand for the following ten years, before joining ISB in August 2023. He earned his Master of Education Degree in School Counseling from Brooklyn College, and his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sports Studies with a concentration in Sport Psychology from Towson University, USA. Alex holds a permanent certification in School Counseling from the State of New York.
BEGULIC, Sandra

Sandra obtained her Master of Science and Bachelor’s degrees in Physical Chemistry, as well as her teaching certificate from the University of Belgrade, Serbia. Since joining ISB in July 2009, she has performed a variety of roles at the school including Secondary Receptionist/Secretary, MYP Science/ MYP Math/ DP Chemistry substitute teacher and CEESA MathCounts coach.
BOLLHORN, Ryan

Ryan joined ISB in October 2018. He has previous experience teaching DP Design Technology, MYP Design and Visual Arts at the International School of Tanganyika, as well as MYP Design and Visual Arts at the German European School in Singapore. Ryan is a Canadian citizen who obtained his teaching certification from the Province of Prince Edward Island in Canada and earned his Masters of Science in Education specializing in Technology Integration in the classroom from Walden University as well as his Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary – Design & Technology) from Charles Sturt University. He also holds a Bachelor of Media Arts degree from the University of South Australia and a Diploma in Cinema, Television, Stage and Radio (CTSR) from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
BULJANOVIC, Biljana
DP Serbian / Serbian (Language B) Teacher | [email protected]
Biljana obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Serbian Language and Literature at the University of Belgrade. She has been a substitute teacher for both Serbian Language and Literature, and Serbian Language Acquisition since 2009, and in 2013 she became a part-time Secondary Serbian language acquisition teacher, and in 2021, she also started teaching IB DP Serbian Language and Literature. Biljana has vast experience in teaching both LS and US students and is a certified copy editor for the Serbian language.
BURNHAM, Nicholas

Originally from the UK, Nicholas joined ISB as Performing Arts Teacher in August 2023. In the eight years of his professional experience in international education, Nicholas taught Drama and Theatre at international schools in Switzerland, Bangladesh, South Korea and Thailand, but also has the experience of being an IB world school graduate. Nicholas obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Drama and Scriptwriting from the University of Northumbria and is certified in Drama Education by the University of Sunderland, UK.

Since 2007 Arsen has taught in the following positions at ISB: Grade 2 Teacher, Serbian as a Foreign Language Teacher, Grade 3 Teacher, Grade 5 Teacher, and he is currently one of our MYP Humanities teachers. He is a dual citizen of Canada and Serbia. Prior to his experience at ISB, Arsen worked as a High School instructor at the School of International Languages in Mississauga, Ontario. He has a Master of Science degree in Technology Integration from Walden University, a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Windsor, and a Bachelor's degree in History from York University in Toronto, Canada. Arsen has served as a Self-Study Steering Committee member, a Curriculum Leadership Committee member and as a member of the Staff Association of the International School of Belgrade.

Prior to joining ISB in August 2022 as the MYP/DP English Teacher, Ilvana taught DP English A and B at the United World College Mostar for 13 years. She earned both her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in English Language and Literature from the University Dzemal Bijedic, Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Sabina transferred to ISB in August 2023 after three years of working as the Assistant Principal in Mossbourne Parkside Academy in London, UK. During the 14 years of her previous teaching experience, Sabina also taught Grade 2 at the International School of Manila, Philippines, and worked as a Primary school teacher and Head of Key Stage 2 in several schools in London, UK. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Leicester, UK and is certified in the field of Elementary Education by the General Teaching Council for England.

Since joining ISB back in 2003, Vicky has worked as an Early Years, Pre-K, Kindergarten and Grade 1 Teacher. Vicky came to ISB with extensive experience in working with the youngest student groups - she had been employed for ten years as a Nursery School Teacher at the International Nursery School Belgrade, as well as at several other daycare centers in Belgrade prior to that. She obtained her BA at the Teacher Education Academy of the University of Belgrade, Serbia.
DIMITROV, Marija

Marija has been working at ISB as the Primary Physical Education teacher since 2005. She also taught Movement and Dance at our school for a number of years. She coaches the ISB Secondary School girls' volleyball team. Marija obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Physical Education from the University of Belgrade Department of Sport and Physical Education, and has completed specialized training for working with visually impaired children at the Department of Special Needs of the University of Belgrade, Serbia.

Since joining ISB in 2003, Mira has been one of our Kindergarten and Early Years teachers. Mira came to ISB with six years of experience teaching in early childhood education at public schools in Glencoe and Chicago, Illinois. Over the years at ISB, Mira has served on the ISB Strategic Planning Taskforce, the Staff Association of ISB as well as on numerous other committees. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from the De Paul University in Chicago, and her Master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education from the Northeastern University, also in Chicago, Illinois.

Katarina joined ISB in 2017 as the Upper School Spanish Acquisition Teacher. She obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Belgrade. Katarina spent several years teaching Spanish at Britannica International School of Belgrade as well as the Paddington Sunflower International Nursery.
ESTELLER, John Simon

Before joining ISB in August 2022 as Digital Media Specialist, and the Secondary School Librarian as of 2023-24 school year, John Simon taught Grade 5 and worked as an IT Integration Specialist at the International School of Prague, Czech Republic. His professional experience also includes working as the IT Director at Northbridge International School Cambodia, as well as teaching PYP and MYP Humanities Grade 6 to 10 at the International School of Bucharest, Romania. John Simon is a dual citizen of UK and France and has earned his Master’s degree in Education Technology from Leeds University in the UK, his Master's degree in Education from the Open University in the UK, and his Master of Research from the Sorbonne University in Paris France. He also obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Library and Information Services management from Sheffield University. John Simon holds an International Teacher Certificate in Education.

Maciej is a citizen of Poland, Canada, and the United States who joined ISB as an MYP/DP Math Teacher in August, 2022. Previously, he worked as an MYP/DP Math Teacher at the International School of Latvia and the International School of Singapore. Prior to teaching internationally, he was a Secondary Math teacher at several independent and public schools in San Francisco, USA. He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce Degree in the field of International Business from the University of Manitoba, Canada, and completed a Single Subject Credential Program in Mathematics at the University of San Francisco, USA. Maciej is certified to teach middle and secondary mathematics by the State of California.
HALL, Daniel

Daniel transferred to ISB in August 2023 after four years of working as the Associate Vice Principal and Head of Science at the Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy in London, UK. During the 16 years of his previous teaching experience, Daniel also taught IB Chemistry at the International School of Manila, Philippines, and worked as a Science teacher and Head of Science Department in several schools in London, UK. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Leeds, UK, and is certified to teach Chemistry and General Science by the General Teaching Council of England.
HARRISON, Meaghan

Meaghan came to ISB in August 2020 after three years of teaching Gr. 1 at the Esbjerg International School in Denmark. Her previous experience includes teaching students in grades 1 – 5 at various international schools: British International School of Ukraine in Kyiv, American International School of Abu Dhabi in UAE, Bambini Education Centre in Seoul, Korea, as well as at various elementary schools in Canada, her home country. Meaghan earned her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Ottawa, and her BA in Political Science/English from Mount Allison University. She obtained her teaching license in Elementary Education from the Ontario College of Teachers.

A USA native, Cat transferred to ISB in August 2022 from the Shanghai Community International School, China, where she taught Grade 4. Her extensive career as an international educator includes teaching grades 2 – 4 in various international schools in China, Nigeria and Guinea, as well as in public schools in the USA. Cat earned her Master of Education degree from the University of Phoenix and her Bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Minnesota. She obtained her teaching certificate in Elementary Education from the State of Minnesota.
HASANOVIC, Snezana

Zhana has been the School Business Manager since 2006. She is a dual citizen of Serbia and the USA. Prior to her position at ISB, she worked as the Treasurer at Tetra Pak, the world's leading food processing and packaging solutions company, and before that she worked as a Software Engineer at Percussion Software, a web content management software company in the U.S. Zhana's professional training and qualifications were earned at Boston University, and are in software engineering; however, during her entire schooling in the USA she worked in the field of finance - working for profit and non-profit companies and organizations. She now oversees the business management of ISB - all the administrative and logistical aspects of running a school.
HICKMAN, Cheryl
MYP Science/DP Biology Teacher | [email protected]
Cheryl Hickman is a US citizen who, prior to joining ISB in 2019, worked at McCaskey High School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA for nine years, where she was teaching IB DP Biology and Grade 9 MYP Biology, while also serving as the school’s MYP Coordinator. Before working at McCaskey, Cheryl was at the Lincoln Middle School, also in Lancaster, where she taught Grade 6 General Science while specializing in providing instruction for gifted and learning support students. Cheryl earned her Bachelors of Science in Food Science from Mississippi State University and her Master of Education in Science Education from the University of Florida. Cheryl has a National Board Certification in Biology, and is teaching DP Biology and MYP Science at ISB.
JOCIC, Milica
Secondary School Serbian Mother Tongue Teacher | [email protected]
Milica has been employed at ISB since 2002, initially as a Teacher Assistant and Serbian B and EAL teacher, and after two years, as a middle school Serbian Mother Tongue Teacher. Prior to joining ISB, she worked as an English teacher at a private language school for several years, as well as a part-time teacher of Serbian Language at a public high and elementary school in Belgrade. Milica obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Serbian Language and Literature and World Literature at the Philology Department of the University of Belgrade. In addition to her teaching assignment, Milica has been involved in the ISB Strategic Planning Committee and completing the ISB Language Policy.

In the 7 years of his professional career in international education prior to joining ISB in August 2023, Maurits taught Math, General Science, Physics and Chemistry at schools in China, Qatar and in his native country The Netherlands. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Hogeschool Utrecht, The Netherlands and holds a permanent teaching certificate in Chemistry, General Science, Math and Physics, awarded by the Teacher Training Center Hoger Instituut der Kempen, Belgium.
KAREMERI, Bernice

Bernice joined ISB in August 2022 as a Secondary Physical Education Teacher. For the past eleven years, she taught both primary and secondary PE at Braeburn Group of Schools and Brookhouse Schools both in her native country Kenya. Bernice earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Leisure and Recreation Management from Kenyatta University, Kenya and her Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the Mount Kenya University. She has been certified to teach Physical Education by the Teachers Service Commission of Kenya.
KAUNHOVEN, James

James is a UK citizen who, prior to joining ISB in 2019, has been teaching in a grade 2 PYP classroom at Hanoi International School since 2016. James began his professional career as a successful sales manager, before discovering his love of teaching in a room of 55 first grade students in a school in China. He has also gained experience and training in grade 5 at the United Nations International School in Hanoi. James earned his BA Honors degree from The Open University in the United Kingdom in the field of Social Sciences. He obtained his Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Sunderland University. James will be teaching in a Grade 3 PYP classroom.

Originally from Australia, David began working at ISB as the Leader of Learning for Performing Arts in August 2022. He transferred to our school from the International School of Penang, Malaysia, where he had worked as the Head of Creative Arts and an IB DP and Secondary Music teacher for three years. His professional experience includes working as an MYP/DP Music teacher at an international school in Indonesia, as well as in several public schools in Australia. David earned his Master’s degree in Music Therapy from the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia, and his Bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Music from Southern Cross University. He obtained his teaching certificate in Primary Education from Newcastle University, Australia.
KERANOVIC, Vojislav

Originally from Belgrade, Vojislav returns to his hometown after spending 6 years living abroad. During his international experience, he has performed various roles at Qatar Academy Doha and at Taipei American School, including training in teaching IB DP Economics, DP Business Management, DP Geography and MYP Individuals and Societies, as well as substitute teaching and coaching at the secondary level. Vojislav obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Tourism from the University of Belgrade, Serbia, and his Postgraduate Certificate of Education from the University of Sunderland, in the UK.
KNEZEVIC, Ines
Primary Spanish & EAL Teacher Long-Term Substitute | [email protected]
Ines obtained her BA in Spanish Philology from the Espagnol Universite Paris – Sorbonne University in Paris, France, and her MA in Children Psychology from Formainfancia European School in Madrid, Spain. She holds a teaching license from the Sorbonne University in Paris. Her work experience includes teaching Spanish at the French School in Belgrade.
KOELEWIJN, Saskia

Originally from the Netherlands, Saskia joined ISB in August 2023 as our new Leader of Learning for PE. Her prior experience in international education includes serving as a PE Department Head and teaching MYP/DP Physical Education, DP Sports Science and MYP Science in international Schools in China, Qatar and Belgium, as well as in the Netherlands. Saskia earned her Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy from the Windesheim Zwolle University of Applied Sciences, and her Bachelor’s degrees in Biology from Hogeschool Utrecht and Physical Education from Hogeschool Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She holds permanent certifications in teaching Physical Education and Biology from Hogeschool Amsterdam and Hogeschool Utrecht, respectively.
LUTLEY, Erik

Erik joined ISB as the Secondary Principal in August 2023. Born and raised in Iceland by American parents, he has spent the last 25 years living with his family in Krakow, Poland and holds citizenships in each of those countries. For the past nine years Erik has worked as the Secondary School Principal of the International School of Krakow. Erik's educational background is in English literature, and he completed his Bachelor's degree from the Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, USA and his Master’s degree from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. Erik earned his Administration Certificate of International School Leadership from the Principals’ Training Center, London, UK and completed his Certificate in School Management and Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
MANIC, Dragan

Joining ISB as the IB DP Physics teacher as of 2017-2018 school year, Dragan has obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Belgrade, and is currently pursuing a PhD from the same institution. His previous work experience includes teaching physics at several public high schools and elementary schools in Belgrade, as well as at the British International School in Belgrade.
MARSHALL, Shary

Shary joined ISB as Director in August 2023. She earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Vermont and a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Learning and Development from the University of Texas, USA. She is a doctoral candidate at the University of Kentucky, and her research focuses on authentic leadership and communication. Prior to arriving at ISB, Shary spent four years as the Deputy Head of School of Bavarian International School in Germany. Before that, she served in schools in her native USA and China, Taiwan, Israel, Bulgaria, and Czechia.
MICIC, Marija

Marija first joined ISB in 2015 as the Serbian Mother Tongue long-term substitute teacher, and in 2019 she became a part-part time Primary EAL teacher. Most recently, she has been teaching our students in Grade 1. Marija obtained her Master's and Bachelor's degrees in the English Language and Literature from the University of Belgrade, Serbia.

Nenad has been working at the International School of Belgrade in a variety of IT infrastructure roles and services since 2007. As of 2014 he started the development of ISB's School Information System. Nenad obtained his Bachelor's degrees in the PE from the University of Belgrade, Serbia.
MILOSEVIC, Olja

Since joining ISB in 2002, Olja has worked as a Serbian Teacher and an EAL/English as Language B instructor. She completed a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature, a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics, and a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics, from the Philology Department of the University of Belgrade. Prior to working at ISB, Olja worked as an English teacher in public elementary schools in Belgrade and other parts of Serbia.

Prior to joining ISB in August 2021, Pamela taught MYP/DP English at The Aga Khan Academy and other independent schools in her native country Kenya. She obtained her Bachelor of Education in English Language and Literature from Africa Nazarene University in Nairobi, Kenya.

Gina joined ISB in August 2022 after four years of teaching Grade 5 at a public elementary school in the USA. Her previous professional experience includes teaching Grade 3 at Shanghai American School, China, and working in various roles in the field of Special Education at Qatar Academy as well as in several other public schools in the USA. Gina obtained her Bachelor’s degree in communication and journalism from the University of Minnesota, and is certified as a reading specialist and in elementary education by the State of Wisconsin.
MULLER, Corlia

Corlia is an early childhood educator who spent 10 years of her career teaching Pre-K and Kindergarten students at the United Nations International School in Hanoi, Vietnam and at the Happy Kids American School in Taipei, Taiwan. A South African national, Corlia obtained her Bachelor of Education degree in Foundation Phase Education, as well as her teaching certificate in Early Childhood and Elementary education from the North-West University Potchefstroom in her home country.
NESOVIC, Dunja

Since joining ISB in 2004, Dunja has performed a variety of roles at the school. She worked as an Instructional Aide in Pre-K, Kindergarten and Grade 1 classrooms until 2015, when she became ISB Primary Library Assistant. Dunja earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Library and Information Science from the University of Belgrade, Serbia.
NIKOLIC, Branislav

Branislav has been the IT Director at the International School of Belgrade since 2005. Prior to joining ISB in his current full time position, he was working with ISB on an on-call basis, and has been providing IT support to our school since 1996. He earned a Bachelor's degree as well as his Master's degree in Information Technology Management, both from the Union University in Belgrade. Prior to accepting the IT Director position at ISB, Branislav also worked as an IT Manager for 5 years at the USAID-dependent NGO called International Relief & Development.

Originally from Portugal, Sara spent her career working as a counselor, psychologist, and leader of support services at various educational institutions in Portugal, Montenegro, Serbia, Qatar, and Taiwan. Sara has worked with children of all ages and has acquired significant experience supporting students’ mental health, evaluating and supporting students with learning difficulties, as well as promoting children’s social-emotional development. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Porto, Portugal.
PAJIC, Milena

Milena joined ISB in 2009 as one of our part-time Serbian Mother Tongue teachers, initially at the Secondary, and subsequently at the Primary School. Milena earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Serbian Language General Linguistics from the Philology Department of the University of Belgrade. In addition to her work on developing a strong Serbian MT program that incorporates general literacy, literature and understanding of Serbian culture, Milena is a member of the Tech Integration Team and has devoted her time outside of the classroom by serving as a new teacher mentor and supporting various community events.

Sonja has worked at ISB since 2010 in a variety of instructional capacities: Lower School Movement and Dance teacher for Pre-K and Kindergarten, Serbian Foreign Language instructor for Grades 1- 5, then EAL teacher for grades 6-8 and most recently, as MYP English Language and Literature/Individuals and Societies teacher. Sonja is a dual citizen of Canada and Serbia and received her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Windsor and her Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a Psychology Minor from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada. Her work experience prior to ISB includes teaching as a primary school instructor and student teacher in several public and private schools in Windsor and Kitchener, Canada.
PEJOVIC, Jelena

Originally from Serbia, Jelena has returned to her home country after devoting seven years to teaching abroad at the International School of Uganda. During her time there, she served as both a Grade 2 and an Early Years teacher. Before venturing into international teaching, Jelena held positions as a teacher and librarian at various international schools and nurseries in Belgrade. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia, and is also a certified Librarian.

A dual citizen of New Zealand and Canada, Chanda transferred to ISB in August 2022 from the position of Curriculm Director at an international school in Ecuador. Her 25-year long career in education also includes consulting and teaching at various international and public schools in New Zealand, Indonesia, Ecuador, and the Bahamas. Chanda completed her Master of Arts degree in Education at the Victoria University of Wellington, NZ and her Bachelor degrees in Education and Psychology at the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada. Chanda has been certified in the field of Elementary Education by the New Zealand and Prince Edward Island Teacher Registration Boards.
POPOVIC, Aleksandra

Prior to becoming ISB's IB DP German Teacher in 2017, Aleksandra worked as a DP German tutor and German Mother tongue teacher at ISB. She also taught German language at the Educational System "Crnjanski", Belgrade, as well as at several private language schools in Belgrade. Aleksandra completed her Bachelor's degree in German Language and Literature at the Belgrade University and has furthered her knowledge as a scholarship holder from Rotary Club Wiesbaden and Rotary Club Wiesbaden-Rheingau at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany.

Natalie joined ISB in August 2023 from the Khartoum International Community School, Sudan, where she taught MYP/DP Math and DP Theory of Knowledge. In the 8 years of her experience teaching Math, she also worked at other international and public schools in Australia, Colombia and her native USA. Natalie earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Math and Math Education from Augustana College, USA and holds a permanent teaching certificate in the fields of Math and Social Studies awarded by the State of Illinois.

Zorica was appointed to the part-time position of Upper School English as an Additional Language In-class Support Teacher in 2014. Prior to that, Zorica was with ISB for two years in the capacity of Individual Assistant for a special needs student. Zorica has a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Serbo-Croatian Language and Yugoslav Literature, and Teacher Certification from the Philology Department of the University of Belgrade. She also teaches a Middle School Enrichment Course.
RIZOPOULOU, Fenia

Fenia joined ISB in August 2023 as the IB Diploma Programme Coordinator. Her previous 17-year long career in international education included several roles in educational leadership: Director of Teaching and Learning and the K-12 Curriculum Coordinator at Shanghai Singapore International School in China, and DP and MYP teacher for Theory of Knowledge, Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Psychology and EAL in China and Norway. Fenia has worked with the IB as an IBEN Programme Leader, Evaluation Leader and Course Reader and has supported many schools across 3 continents with IB accreditation. She is an IB examiner and workshop leader, currently facilitating continuum workshops for IB coordinators and school leaders. She holds Master’s Degrees in Educational Leadership (UK) and in European Culture and Literature Studies (Greece), and two Bachelor’s degrees in French Language and Literature (Greece) and English in Secondary Education (Norway). Before joining international education, Fenia co-founded a successful school in Greece where she served as a teacher and a Director of Studies. She holds a Qualified Teacher Status from the UK and a EU teaching licence.

Before joining ISB in August 2023, Aneesa spent three years teaching secondary Psychology, Social Sciences and Language Arts at an international school in Qatar. Her 12-year teaching career also includes experience teaching Social Sciences and Language Arts at various schools in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, South Korea and her native South Africa. Aneesa earned her Master’s degree in Educational Psychology and her Bachelor’s Degree in Media Studies and Psychology from the University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. She obtained her teaching certificate in Psychology and English from the University of South Africa.

Elena has worked at ISB since 2006, initially as a Gr. 4 and 5 teacher and subsequently as the Lower School Learning Support Specialist. Prior to her experience at ISB, she worked at QSI International School of Skopje in her home country of Macedonia for 6 years, educating students in Grades K-5. Elena earned her Master of Education degree in International Education from Framingham State College, Massachusetts and her Bachelor's degree in the Arts from the University of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Macedonia. She holds a Special Education Certification from the State of Missouri. In addition, Elena has CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), and TESOL (Teacher of English to Students of Other Languages) certifications. She has organized children's drama festivals on national levels. As an exchange student, Elena received Bill Clinton's Presidential Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement.

Ashley came to ISB in August 2022 after working as a Learning Support Teacher at the International School of Latvia for five years. Her previous experience includes teaching students at the International School Singapore, as well as in several independent schools in the USA. Ashley earned her Master’s degree in Special Education from the San Francisco State University and her Bachelor’s degree from the University of California Santa Cruz, both in her native USA. She obtained her teaching license in Special Education from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing of the State of California.

Maja began working at ISB as the Environmental Systems and Societies Teacher in August 2018. She obtained her Master’s degree in Geography from the University of Belgrade, Serbia. Before joining ISB, Maja taught MYP Individuals and Societies and was the subject group leader, as well as IGCSE Geography and Environmental Management at the Rudjer Boskovic Educational Centre in Belgrade. Prior to that, she taught Geography at the middle school level in various public schools in Pancevo, Serbia.
SKORIC, Natasa

Natasa has been working at ISB as the DP Visual Arts Teacher since 2004. In addition to her teaching assignment, she is also in charge or organizing the annual DP Art Exhibition. Natasa earned her Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Painting, both from the Fine Arts Department Cetinje of the University of Montenegro. Prior to joining ISB, she had worked as an Assistant Professor at the Fine Arts Department Cetinje for four years, and for an additional three years, as an Art Teacher at a Belgrade private art school for school-aged children. Natasa has created several independent exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions in Serbia and Montenegro.

Originally from Canada, Adam joined ISB as a Grade 4 teacher in August 2020 after completing his tenure at Esbjerg International School in Denmark, where he taught the PYP to students in Grades 3 and 5. Prior to that, Adam worked as a PYP classroom teacher at both the British International School in Kyiv, Ukraine and the American International School in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Adam completed his Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Ottawa in Canada and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at Mount Allison University in Canada. Adam is a certified member of the Ontario College of Teachers and is qualified to teach Elementary (K-6).
SPASIC, Svetlana

Svetlana has been the Primary School Art Teacher at ISB since 2006, and is in charge of the Primary School Annual Art Show. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Painting from the Fine Arts Department of the University of Arts Belgrade. She also specialized in Painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts in Greece. Svetlana's work experience prior to ISB includes teaching art to children of all age groups and creating art programs for different institutions such as the Children's Cultural Center Belgrade, the Cultural Center Belgrade, private daycare institutions and local schools. Svetlana has had a number of independent exhibitions of her own artwork, and has been a participant in numerous group exhibitions in Serbia and abroad.

Before joining ISB in 2004 as the Lower School EAL teacher, Divna taught English as Additional/Second Language to children, teenagers, university students and adults. Her work experience includes the position of Academic Director at Kester Grant College in Vancouver, Canada, as well as teacher trainer at the ESL International Teacher Training Center (TESL) in Vancouver. In addition, Divna has been a licensed Cambridge ESOL examiner since 2005. Apart from teaching EAL, she also coordinates the after-school Mother Tongue Program at ISB. Divna obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English Language and Literature from the Philology Department of the University of Belgrade, and Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Certificate in Vancouver, Canada. Divna is a dual citizen of Canada and Serbia.

Katie began working at ISB as a Music Teacher in August 2021. She moved to our school from an international school in Indonesia, where she had worked as the Primary Music Teacher for six years. Her professional experience also includes teaching Lower and Middle school General Music and Chorus at international and public schools in Morocco and the US. Katie obtained her Master’s degree in Choral Music Education from Florida State University, her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education at the State University of New York, Fredonia, and her teaching certificates in Music from the States of New York and Georgia in the US.

Ayesha began working at ISB as MYP Drama/DP Theater teacher in August 2023. She is a native of India who earned her Master’s degree in Theatre and Global Development from the University of Leeds, UK, and her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Mumbai, India. In the seven years of teaching prior to joining ISB, Ayesha taught Theater and Drama in the IB DP and MYP at international schools in Bangalore and Mumbai, India.

Maja joined ISB as the Middle School Art teacher in 2014 and is also teaching one section of grades 9 & 10 Enrichment in Graphic Arts. Prior to joining ISB, she worked as the Visual Arts teacher at the bilingual (French/Serbian) Vladislav Ribnikar school in Belgrade. Maja had worked at this school full-time since 1993, and also worked part-time as Visual Arts teacher at the Matematicka Gimnazija (High School of Mathematics) in Belgrade for nine years. She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Graphic Design from the Belgrade University of Art. Maja has been honored three different years by the Museum of Applied Arts in Belgrade with the Award for the best Art Teacher at the Republic (national) level. Her own print art has been on display in exhibitions in Serbia, France, Japan, Spain and Hungary.

Ashley joined ISB as a Pre-K Teacher in 2023 after working as an Early Childhood educator at BASIS International School Bangkok, Thailand for four years. She is an Ontario Board certified teacher and has obtained her Master of Science in Education from Niagara University, USA and her Bachelor of Arts in English from York University, Canada.

Following 11 years of experience teaching MYP and DP French in international schools including Skagerak International School, Norway; International School Moshi, Tanzania and the Overseas School of Colombo, Sri Lanka, Valerie joined ISB in August 2020 as the Leader of Learning for World Languages. Dianna has been teaching at ISB since 2005, and has taught Grades 2 and 3 and is currently one of our Grade 5 teachers. A native of Australia, she was born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia. Dianna graduated from the University of South Australia where she received a Bachelor of Education in Primary Teaching and received her teacher certification from the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia. Most of her 12-year teaching experience prior to ISB was in Australia's public schools in the regular classroom as well as in the specialty areas of Art, PE, and Languages other than English. She has also taught in schools with Bilingual, English as a Second Language, and Talented and Gifted programs.

Todd joined ISB in August 2021 from an international school in Qatar where he worked as the Deputy Head of Primary School and the Director of Sport. Prior to that, he spent four years working as the Head of Physical Education and Director of Student Leadership at an international school in the USA. Todd obtained his Master’s degree in International Education from King’s College of London, and his Bachelor’s degree in Sports Development and Physical Education as well as his teaching certificate from Liverpool John Moores University, UK.

Originally from the UK, Grace joined ISB in August 2021 and has performed a variety of roles, including that of a whole school cover teacher. Previously, she lived in Doha, Qatar and worked internationally at the British International School of Houston, Texas. Grace began her professional career in health care, and went on to obtain a BA Honours Degree in English Language and Literature before completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Sunderland.

In her 11 years of experience teaching, Danielle taught Math to students across grades 5 through 12 in several schools in her native USA, as well as more recently, at a private school in the United Arab Emirates. Her professional experience also includes working as World Language Department Chair as well as teaching High School Spanish in schools in the USA, where she is from. Kristin earned her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Secondary Education from Luther College in Iowa, USA, and is licensed in Spanish and English Language Learning Education through the State of Minnesota, USA.

Carolina transferred to ISB in August 2023 from the International School of Stuttgart, Germany, where she taught MYP/DP Spanish, MYP French and DP Theory of Knowledge for the past 11 years. Carolina’s prior professional experience also includes teaching languages at various educational institutions in China and France. Carolina earned her Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language from Universidad de Alcala, Spain, and her Master’s degree in Translation and Interpreting in Spanish, English and French from Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio, Spain. She is certified to teach Spanish as a Second Language by Enforex and Instituto Cervantes, Spain.

A dual citizen of Canada and Argentina, Jimena joined ISB as the Primary School Principal in August 2022. Being an international educator for the past 24 years, before coming to ISB Jimena held a number of leadership and teaching positions in international schools in different parts of the world. She was the Elementary Co-Principal at the International School of Prague, Czech Republic, the Head of Primary at the Northbridge International School Cambodia, as well as the Elementary Deputy Principal and the PYP Coordinator at the American International School of Bucharest, Romania. She earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the Western University, Canada, her Master’s degree in Educational Technology from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia and her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toronto, Canada. Jimena is certified in the field of Education by the University of Toronto, Canada, and in the field of Administration by the College of New Jersey, USA.

Goran has been working at ISB since 1992, and as ISB's Facilities/Maintenance/Security Manager he is in charge of our maintenance, custodial and transportation services as well as campus security. He also helps organize all school events, during and outside his regular work hours. Goran has an Associate degree in History from the University of Belgrade.

After joining ISB in 2016, Teodora has taken on multiple roles: she is our MYP Science/DP Chemistry teacher as well as Science Lab Technician. Teodora obtained her Master of Science in Engineering degree from the University of Belgrade, as well as a Master of Science in Organic Chemistry from the Ohio State University. Her previous work experience includes positions of lecturer/instructional assistant at the Ohio State University, as well as chemist at the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of Serbia, the Department of Health and Environmental Control in Columbia, USA, and the Ohio State University.
