Curriculum Scope and Sequences at the International School of Belgrade

The purposes of the ISB PYP scope and sequence documents are:
  • To provide information to the whole school community about teaching and learning in each subject area.
  • To make transparent the essential elements of the PYP in the context of the subject areas; the knowledge skills and understanding that are developed in a transdisciplinary programme.
Each of the subject areas has a significant role within the context of the school’s programme of inquiry. The programme of inquiry provides opportunity for learning both about and through the subject areas. The pedagogy of inquiry is pervasive and applies to all learning across the curriculum.

In the PYP there are six subject areas:
LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICS, SCIENCE, SOCIAL STUDIES, ARTS AND PERSONAL, SOCIAL & PHYSICAL EDUCATION

As we constructed our written curriculum, we drew heavily on the frameworks provided by the International Baccalaureate (IB), using each of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) Scope and Sequence documents. Much of our wording is taken from those documents directly or has been re-phrased to maintain the integrity of the IB stance and provide key information at community level.

We therefore acknowledge the following document:
