Overview of ISB Board of Trustees

The International School of Belgrade (ISB) is overseen by a volunteer Board of Trustees (The Board), consisting of elected and appointed members.

Responsibilities

  • Writing and overseeing school policies
  • Employment and evaluation of the Director
  • Financial oversight and preparation of the school budget
  • Conducting elections and amending the school charter
  • Handling other matters not delegated by the Charter

Membership

  • Comprised of 7 to 10 members
  • Three appointed by the U.S. Ambassador, including the Treasurer
  • Two to five elected members from the membership
  • Up to two additional members may be appointed by the Board
  • At least one member must be a Serbian citizen
  • Members serve a maximum of 3 consecutive years or 3 terms (6 years) if elected

Meeting

Association Meetings held twice a year (December and May) with one month notice
Board Meetings include Open Sessions, Special Meetings, and Executive Sessions:

  • Open Sessions: Held at least twice per year, open to all Association members and interested personsSpecial
  • Meetings: Called by the Chair or upon request, open to members and interested persons
  • Executive Sessions: Private sessions for sensitive matters, called by the Chair or Board members
